BCS works in communities impacted by systemic poverty, providing Brooklynites with the resources, education, opportunities, and safety they need to thrive. Every dollar raised by the Step Up for Brooklyn Walk & Run in September goes directly toward helping BCS fund these 3 critical programs that support Brooklynites and asylum seekers in need:

• The BCS Shower Bus, a mobile care unit that provides hot showers and caring support for homeless residents

• The BCS Education Center, which provides adult education, language, and vocational training for immigrants and asylum seekers

• Supportive housing for people in need of shelter and safe spaces

Fit4Dance Founder & CEO Laci Chisholm has not only been a volunteer and supporter of BCS for the past several years, but she’s also a board member and truly passionate about the work BCS is doing for the community. Most of the work we do at Fit4Dance directly supports BCS. (clothing drives, sanitary product drives, sock drives for homeless men, toy drives, beauty basket drives, dance classes for women in domestic violence shelters, etc)
