Dear Fit4Dance Community,
We have always been there for each other to support reproductive and maternal health for all women. Today I am reaching out to ask if you would be interested in sharing your unique maternal health journey with researchers who are working to improve maternal care, with a focus on women of color. The research team is comprised of African American health professionals working out of MIT and the VA in Boston. They are in the process of interviewing women to gain insight into their pregnancy, childbirth and post-natal experiences, with the goal of developing solutions that may mitigate the risks of medical complications or barriers to quality care.
Your private interview will be anonymous and held in strict confidence. Your name will never be used in any way. Anything that you tell the interviews that could identify you will be removed from their notes. Your unique experiences will be summarized and combined with the information provided by others. The interviewers will use this combined input to identify gaps that women may experience during pregnancy and child birth.
The research team is looking for women who, in the last 3 years, have had any kind of problem with pregnancy, delivery or post-natal care. If you would be willing to share your experiences and opinions, you can use this link https://bit.ly/3DhnUh0 to schedule a private zoom interview for a date that works for you in December. Lola Baird and/or Latrice Jones from MIT Catalyst will be interviewing you on zoom. The interview slots are 45 minutes though we expect the interview will not be more than 30 minutes. Once you select a time slot, you will receive an email confirmation which includes an overview of the topics they will explore in the interview. You will also receive a summary of the key findings after their research is done.
You may forward this to other women who may be interested in sharing their experiences with the goal of improving care for all women.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Latrice Jones at jlatrice41@gmail.com
Thank you for supporting equitable and high quality maternal health for all women,
Laci Chisholm
