Chanel was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her family immigrated from Guyana, South America, to New York City in the 70's. Chanel is a Social Worker, who is passionate about dance, Caribbean culture, and artistic expression. Chanel has a background in cultural arts, performing arts, and dance instruction. Some of her prior experience includes character performer roles at Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens Tampa. Chanel has a very close connection to the community and loves working with children. She has also volunteered as a Caribbean Dance instructor for elementary, middle, and college students. During her college years, Chanel was a Dance Instructor and member of a Caribbean based dance group. Chanel also performed at various cultural events in the Tampa, Florida Community.
