Darren Ferguson aka Darren InnerGee has a long history with group sports and athleticism. His natural inclination to lead and inspire others is one of the reasons why he became a licensed Zumba instructor. Darren has been licensed to instruct Zumba for 6 years and often tells people his classes are focused on team work, confidence, culture building, self esteem and the elevation of skill through hard work, determination and creativity. A typical Darren InnerGee class is described as a challenging, pulsating, emotional, fun and goal driven fitness party and has proven so addictive, that he has taught his style of Zumba (called Smash and Pound) in as many as 5 different states along the east coast of the United States of America.

In each class you'll burn calories while toning arms, legs, abs and glutes. Plyometric or explosive moves like high knees, burpees, and jumping jacks are interchanged with isometric moves like lunges, squats, and kickboxing. Zumba is an exercise fitness program created by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez during the 1990s. Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Squats and lunges are also included.
BODY STORIES W/ SYNEAD @4PM
Using movement as a catalyst, this explorative contemporary (modern/ballet/African derived movement) class delves into how we access and use our bodies to tell stories. Focusing on our use of breath, levels, & sound/music, the goal is to use our limbs to shape and interweave tales of varying kinds.
New York-born musician, artist & activist who was named one of Teen Vogue's 17 Rising Stars Who Personify Black Excellence During Black History Month. Synead has been honored by the NAACP as a history maker in her crucial role in community organization and has been a keynote speaker at Harvard's Alumni of Color Conference in 2015 in connection to social justice and organizing the Millions March NYC in 2014. Synead started on her performance track as a classically trained dancer studying at The Alvin Ailey School, Harlem School of the Arts, and LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts and studied acting at Stella Adler, CAP 21, the William Esper Studio, and abroad at the Royal Academy of the Dramatic Arts in London. Most recently, she performed at New York Men’s Fashion week for the brand JAHNKOY under direction of Nathan Trice. She has also had the opportunity to work on several film & television projects ("Mercy Mistress", "Sasquatch") with diverse and vibrant creatives in New York City and abroad.
