Join us for a rich and soulful journey through movement in Contemporary Caribbean Dance—a class that blends the sacred and expressive dances of the African Diaspora in the Caribbean with contemporary technique and storytelling.
We’ll begin with a gentle warm-up focused on body articulation, isolations, and flow to prepare the body. Then, we’ll explore traditional folkloric movements rooted in the divine spirits and cultural rhythms of the Diaspora, touching on themes of play, transition, flow, beauty, and strength. These movements will serve as the foundation for a modern dance combination that invites both cultural reverence and personal expression. The class will close with light stretching to ground and integrate the work.
This special session will be led by guest instructor Kendra Bostock, a passionate and thoughtful movement artist who brings deep care to every class. Though she’s only taught at Fit4Dance a few times before, her energy and artistry have left a lasting impression—and we’re thrilled to welcome her back!
All levels are welcome! Come ready to connect with community, culture, and your own expressive power.
