Menstrual health is a global challenge. Forty million women live in poverty around the world. Girls and women living in poverty jeopardize their health, miss school and work, and make choices between buying food and feminine hygiene products.
The survival, health and well-being of adolescents and women are essential to ending extreme poverty, promoting development and achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Menstrual health is not simply a hygiene issue. It is deeply interconnected to Global Goals 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 12.
