Demo Class: Afro Contemporary

  • Fit4Dance 778 Nostrand Ave Brooklyn NY 11216 USA (map)

This technically based dance class is for novice dancers who would like to explore the physical and performance levels of dance and professional dancers looking to expand their dance experience and technique. Class levels range from Open and Absolute Beginner to Advanced. Afro Contemporary focuses on fluid body isolations while incorporating movement specific to traditional African and Contemporary styles. The class groove is established with smooth Afrobeats rhythms and is developed with Afro Trap and Afro House. After beginning with isolations we will move to arm, foot and leg movement that
balances contemporary and afro dance. We take it to the floor, continuing with the blended warm up, moving with empowering rhythms playing. Static stretching/strength and muscle building help us transition to the next level; our spirited combos in the center and across the floor. Afro Contemporary will leave you boundless.
